In the early seventies, I spent a few months working and traveling in most of Mexico and parts of Central and South America. Each time I arrived in a new town, I found myself asking, "Donde estan los tejedoras textiles?" (Where are the textile weavers?) I was fascinated with shapes and colors and textures; and, some fifty five years later, I still am! In addition to looms, I use hoops and picture frames, almost any solid structure for the basis of a weaving. Initially I would weave materials and then design clothes, then moved on to decorative pillows and wall hangings. Now, I would like to explore three dimensional weaving, maybe something like an abstract totem pole. I like that there are still new dimensions for exploration!
